LOCATION
In a truly historic part of Newlyn backing onto the area known as Keel Alley which was open to the sea and harbour until 1908 when the road bridge from The Strand and the adjoining ice works were completed. It remained water filled but cut off from larger vessels by the bridge until the 1980’s when the new ice works and lorry park was built and Keel Alley was turned into a park. Behind The Fradgan you will find a warren of ancient, cobbled streets which are only accessible by foot and give a real link to the past.
From the cottage it is just a short level walk to the shops which include a fishmongers, supermarket, bakers and pharmacy. There are numerous public houses and restaurants as well as a multiscreen cinema, school, church and chapel. The major town of Penzance is just a mile away across the seafront, with a more comprehensive range of shops and commercial facilities, schools for all ages and a mainline rail link to London Paddington.
